Our position on the Conference on HIV / AIDS in Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECAAC-2018) taking place in Moscow these days. For the third time we are boycotting the conference and encourages others to refuse to participate in the event. We are going to hold a series of single pickets against the conference from 9 till 11 every morning.

The European Court of Human Rights has communicated a complaint from the Andrey Rylkov Foundation helping drug addicts. Six years ago, the Russian Federal Drug Control Service found appeals for drug use on their website and banned it.

The UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights has recommended that Russia change its punitive policy approach within 18 months and consider decriminalizing drugs for personal consumption.

Court declared the Rospotrebnadzor's decision to ban the presence of an HIV-positive citizen of Tajikistan in Russia as illegal

The Moscow City Court affirmed the decision of Horoshevsky District Court from August 30 and has refused the Ministry of Justice request to lay charges against Andrey Rylkov Foundation.

ARF, CALN and a number of their partner organizations approached UNAIDS as a co-organizer of EECAAC 2016 asking to share its for mitigating the obvious negative human rights and health consequences of Russia’s non-evidence-based and harmful approach to responding to the epidemic at both the country and regional levels.
